The prince that was promised (pic: Ubisoft)is planning to bring back the Prince Of Persia franchise, but only as a location-based VR escape room game. The good news here is that at least the new Prince Of Persia game isn’t just a mobile app. It’s been a decade now since the last proper Prince of Persia (The Forgotten Sands in 2010) and all we’ve had since then are remakes and an endless runner on mobile. But while that’s a shame its fading from the limelight has more to do with the success of Assassin’s Creed than anything else, whose first few games had similar gameplay and aesthetics.Whether The Dagger Of Time is a prelude to Ubisoft bringing back the franchise with a more traditional entry is impossible to say, but despite a few rumours here and there there’s been nothing to suggest they are.
In terms of chronological order, the series goes Sands of Time Forgotten Sands Warrior Within Two Thrones. The other Prince of Persia game on PS3.
